Have a question abut my gardenias?

i have a gardenia bush that is about 3 feet tall. i am sure how old it is but i know its at least a year old. well anyways it has alot blooms this year and barely any leaves on its stems but it has at least 6 flowers on it already. i live in north florida and its planted into the ground covered around with pine bark. i do fertilize it too. last year it didnt bloom but a few. but its been blooming for the past month and getting healthier. is there a way i can give it a boost and i dont want to move it and i am not worry about the dirt. i put top soil on it when i have left overs. do pennies help it? things around house that i can use as fertilizer does anyone know any of those remedies?
Have a question abut my gardenias?
how about used coffee grounds around the base of the plant and it works really well . I have been using them for years . I have some beautifull plants and flowers too .
Reply:I love gardenias. I have a dozen or more around my house. They are a pretty difficult plant for me to understand. I moved 7 of them several years ago because they were not doing as well as the others and some did way better and some did slightly better after being moved. Some years they are outstanding and some years not so good. Weather seems to be the difference. I mostly just answered this to see what others had to say about your question.
Reply:Gardenias are acid-loving plants. Sprinkle coffee grounds around the base. Water with diluted coffee, along with regular watering.
