I had a gardenia indoors, facing a east window,i kept it fertilized and watered, but id died out on me,why?

GARDENIA'S ARE NORMALLY AN OUTDOOR PLANT AND DON'T TAKE ALOT OF FERTILIZER. YOU MAY HAVE WATERED IT TOO MUCH AND THEY REQUIRE FULL SUN. THEY ARE NOT A SUCCULENT PLANT. CONTAINER MAY HAVE BEEN TOO SMALL OR TO BIG FOR PLANT.
I had a gardenia indoors, facing a east window,i kept it fertilized and watered, but id died out on me,why?
My step~Mom had this same problem.

I dont think Gardenia like all that much sunlight ~if any.

If there's still even the slightest bit of green, try add'g some B~1 Vitamin to it %26amp; move it to a North Facing Window.

Windows (facing East or West) tend to Absorb the Heat %26amp; then radiate it off inside. Im guess'g that might b what happened.

Even in places back East, these windows will do the same thing as here in Arizona. U have to remember Glass is glass %26amp; it will reflect sunlight (%26amp; heat) inward during different times of the day. Add that to the Heat the window radiates off %26amp; U have a Heat Cooker for a Plant. ~not good unless U live someplace that plants or cactus like it.

As for Full Sun, my step~Mom's had full sun til about 2 pm or so %26amp; it still died. She had it about 4mos (Mid to Late August to November). Our temps had even come down %26amp; it started look'g sick %26amp; she tried everything %26amp; it still died.
Reply:Gardenia is not just a flower it is actually a bush and it can get very big. Its hardy outside with little care!
