My gardenia doesn't blossom. What should i do?

Where is it located and what geographical area are you in?

Gardenias like it relatively warm and humid. If you have it in your house, you need to keep the temp around 70 to 75 F. during the day and no cooler than 60 F. at night. If it's outside (and it probably shouldn't be unless you live in the tropics or sub-tropics) it should be in partial shade. They demand high humidity, but resent having their foliage misted. The best way to keep the immediate area humid enough for them is to provide a nearby water source, such as a fountain, pond or tray of moist pebbles. During spring through mid-fall, fertilize it with an acid fertilizer such as Azalea/Rhody food, and make sure the soil is loose, well-drained and high in humus.

Gardenias are pretty fussy. Drafts, over or underwatering, moving the plant, too-high or too-low temperatures and dry air are some of the things that will cause it to drop its buds or not set them at all. I had one for about three years once and it did bloom, but it was just too much of a prima donna for my tastes. Good luck, though.

first of all gardenias need temperatures in the 60s for blooms. second they need acitic soil. this can be done by addn a LITTLE bit of coffe grinds or using an acitic plant liquid.
